7-Zip

Imgburn

ImgBurn is a lightweight CD / DVD / HD DVD / Blu-ray burning application that everyone should have in their toolkit. Imgburn creates and burns image files. Nothing else. But it does it so easy and swift, that it found it's way into the freebeehive. I.e. if you plan on using the Ultimate Boot CD, you need a tool to write the ISO file on a blank CD or DVD. Here's your solution. Imgburn is the swiss-army-knife of Image-burning. Hence the name :)

MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition

The one stop solution MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition explores, creates, deletes, hides, recovers, resizes, copies, wipes, formats and labels partitions for all major file systems, let it be FAT, FAT32, NTFS, Linux and what not. It also changes drive letters, rebuilds Master Boot Records (MBRs) and performs surface tests. The free version won't merge partitions, however, but this is the only drawback. Storage media attached to your PC is automatically recognized, IDE, SATA, SCSI harddrives as well as USB and Fire wire disks. There's a free bootable CD ISO image available, too, to boot your PC and manage partitions, thus minimizing the risk of losing access to your data.

MyDefrag

MyDefrag is a disk defragmenter and optimizer (a maintenance utility to make your harddisk faster) for Windows XP, Vista and Win7. Fast, low overhead, with many optimization strategies, can handle floppies, USB disks, memory sticks, and anything else that looks like a disk to Windows. MyDefrag is extremely solid because it is based on the standard defragmentation API by Microsoft, a system library that is included in Windows. My Defrag comes with predefined scripts for an easy start, but it's scripting engine turns it into a powertool for power users, allowing all kinds of elaborate optimization tasks to be performed automatically.

PC On/Off Time

PC WIZARD

PC WIZARD is a powerful utility designed especially for detection of hardware, but also some more analysis. It's able to identify a large scale of system components and supports the latest technologies and standards. This tool is periodically updated (usually once per month) in order to provide most accurate results. PC WIZARD is also an utility designed to analyze and benchmark your computer system.

Q-Dir

Recuva

Accidentally deleted an important file? Lost something important when your computer crashed? No problem! Recuva recovers files deleted from your Windows computer, Recycle Bin, digital camera card, or MP3 player. Recuva - Features: Undelete files on your computer, recovery from damaged or formatted disks, recover deleted emails, recover deleted iPod music, restore unsaved Word documents, Quick-Start Wizard, Deep Scan, securely delete files you want to erase forever, portable version available, full Windows OS support and 37+ languages. And it's free!

Starter

Starter is more than just another startup manager for Microsoft Windows. It's first tab shows all the programs that are starting automatically whenever Windows is loading. It enumerates all the hidden registry entries, startup folders' items and some of the initialization files, so that the user may choose to temporarily disable selected entries, edit them, create new, or delete them permanently. The second tab lists all the running processes, too, with the possibility to view extended process information (such as used DLLs, memory usage, thread count, priorities etc.), and to terminate selected processes. The third tab manages Windows' services (and drivers) with some helpful advanced features.

TeraCopy

One of the most common complaints about newer versions of Windows is the slow copying speed, especially when transferring lots of files over the network. If you want to speed up your copying or if you regularly transfer large amounts of data and have to stop the process to perform some other disk-intensive task, this program may be just what you need. TeraCopy is designed to copy and move files at the maximum possible speed. It skips bad files during the copying process, and then displays them at the end of the transfer so that you can see which ones need attention. TeraCopy can automatically check the copied files for errors by calculating their CRC checksum values. It also provides a lot more information about the files being copied than its Windows counterpart. TeraCopy integrates with Windows Explorer's right-click menu and can be set as the default copy handler!

TweakNow RegCleaner

A Quick Optimizer, system troubleshooter, Windows cleaner etc. etc. under one hood. TweakNow RegCleaner thoroughly scans and repairs your registry, a tad more effective than CrapCleaner, so it's mentioned additionally here. It also erases Windows traces and may also find several issues CrapCleaner has left out. TweakNow RegCleaner is a real power tool, and to be handled with care. But for security reasons, there's an automatic backup to restore functionality just in case something went wrong.

WinDirStat

WinDirStat is a disk usage viewer and cleanup tool for Microsoft Windows. On start up, it reads the whole directory tree once and then presents it in three useful views: a directory list, which resembles the tree view of the Windows Explorer but is sorted by file/subtree size, a treemap, which shows the whole contents of the directory tree straight away, and an extension list, which serves as a legend and shows statistics about the file types. The treemap represents each file as a colored rectangle, the area of which is proportional to the file's size. WinDirStat is the most beautiful way to get an idea about what's going on on your storage media.
